Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about plaster, stucco, repairs, and what to expect from a Quality Plastering project.

What is the difference between plaster and drywall?

Drywall is pre-made gypsum panels that are screwed to studs and then taped, mudded, and sanded. Plaster is applied wet in multiple coats over a base (lath or blueboard) and cured into a single hard, monolithic surface. Plaster is denser, more durable, more sound-resistant, and produces finishes (smooth, sand, Venetian) that drywall cannot match.

What drywall finish levels do you offer?

We offer all five industry levels (Level 1 through Level 5). Most homes use Level 4 — taped, three coats of mud, sanded smooth, ready for paint or texture. Level 5 (skim coat) is for spaces with critical lighting or where you want a flawless, glass-smooth finish. We will recommend the right level for your lighting, paint, and budget.

Do you do exterior stucco and EIFS?

Yes. We do traditional 3-coat stucco, one-coat systems, and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems). We handle new construction, full re-stucco, patches, color coats, and stucco repair on damaged or aging exteriors.

How long does a plaster or stucco project take?

It depends on size, finish, and weather. A typical interior plaster patch is one to two days. A full room can be three to five days including cure time between coats. Exterior stucco on a full home is usually one to three weeks. We give you a real timeline with your estimate and keep you updated through the job.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — fully licensed in Utah and insured. We are happy to provide proof of insurance and license info before any project starts.

What areas of Utah do you serve?

Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, Park City, Draper, Sandy, Murray, St. George, Cedar City, and surrounding areas. We cover the entire Wasatch Front and Southern Utah.

Are estimates really free?

Yes. Every estimate is free and no-obligation. Call, text, or message — we will come out, look at the job, and give you a straight number.

Can you match an existing texture or finish?

Yes. Matching existing texture is one of the things we are known for — knockdown, orange peel, sand, smooth, lace, Spanish, and custom Venetian or skim finishes. We sample on-site and confirm the match before we commit the full surface.

What is your warranty?

Our workmanship is guaranteed. If something is not right, we come back and fix it. We have been doing plaster and stucco in Utah for over 40 years, and the work has to hold up — that is the reputation.
